We're 'hopelessly devoted' to giving you the best cheeses for the Summer which is why we've lovingly created 'The Sandy'.

Summer is now getting into full swing which means of course one thing, long hazy evenings spent in gardens and parks. We've given you three of our absolutely favourite summer cheeses, Crookwheel, Stithians and St Jude. These three make perfectly fresh and unbelievably tasty accompaniments to your picnics this summer. Topped off perfectly by our good friends at The Uncommon Wine of England.

crookwheel

Whilst most people worship rockstars, film stars or sportspeople, here at TCG, we worship cheesemakers. They are our rockstars, and up there with the best of them is Martin Gott at St James cheese. Much like Ed Sheeran, you just know every cheese he releases is going to be a hit. First there was St James, now we have Crookwheel, a slightly more mature, harder sheep's milk cheese. If you wanted to know what true artisan, traditional cheesemaking is all about, look no further. Farmhouse (all Martin's own sheep), raw milk, and using his own heritage starter cultures, this cheese is the truest expression of its little corner of England.

Crookwheel has a lactic, sharp, slightly crumbly centre, with some nutty, honey sweetness and the faintest touch of meaty broth. It manages to position itself miraculously somewhere in between feta, Manchego and Berkswell, yet at the same time having a completely unique identity.

- Sheep's milk, non-Vegetarian, Unpasteurised

Stithians

'The latest cheese from Lynher Dairies, makers of Supreme Champion 2017 Cornish Kern, Stithians is a matured, unwrapped version of their famous Cornish Yarg. Taken on a further 3mths-6mths than Yarg, and with a natural rind, Stithians ends up taking the best of both Yarg and Kern. It just about has the slight lactic, fresh citrus bite, but has become denser by this stage. Layered on top of that are the early shoots of Kern...the nutty, caramel richness and faintest hint of honey floral sweetness.

- Cow's milk, Non Vegetarian, Pasteurised

st jude

A raw milk soft cheese made on Fen Farm by Julie Cheyney, St Jude encapsulates what you get from unpasteurised milk. Whilst it has classic yoghurt lactic, citric vibes, it also brings a rugged, farmy, leathery pop to it...and as you eat it it's almost as if you are on the farm, with the cows standing right there next to you.

It doesn't have the 'filter' that you do get with most pasteurised cheese, it's just a pure, unique expression of the 'terroir' of Fen Farm.

The uncommon wine of england

The Uncommon Bubbly White:
A dry, crisp and refreshing gem fizzing with elderflower and freshly cut grass. The chalky Surrey Downs anchors it with flint and minerals. Pairs deliciously with Eve.

The Uncommon Bubbly Rosé:
Light and bright, our English Rosé is one of strawberries and dreams. With hints of lavender and rose petal. Pairs perfectly with the Sinodun Hill.

peter's yard original crispbreads

The best gluten free crackers in the biz! Made from a blend of gluten-free cereals and flours.

Handbaked in England by Artisan Biscuits and always free from artificial additives or preservatives. Pairs perfectly with soft goat's cheese and a fruity jam.

Champion Cherry & Amaretto

What do you get when you mix cherry, almond and a ripe soft cheese? Almost a Bakewell Tart...but we think better. The sweet and sourness of the cherry with the punch of almond liqueur cuts through the pong perfectly. Every mouthful becomes indulgent. Almost naughty. Don't let that stop you though.

Delivery & extras

Delivery is not only free, and not only at a set time of your choosing, but also comes in a climate control box (the only in the industry) that comes with a 48 hour freshness guarantee.

If that wasn't enough, we also add an insert that will talk you through the info on the cheeses, tasting notes and a scorecard to help you make the very most of your cheese and wine evening!
