Whilst us in the UK like a golden oldie, the Italians can match us. Gorgonzola heads all the way back to the 12th Century when it was made in a small town in Lombardy near Milan. We source ours from La Casearia Carpenedo.
After a summer taste-off at Cheese HQ we plumped for the Piccante rather than Dolce. We blame our taste buds...they were hopping trying to cope with the creaminess AND that sharp, spicy bite. Even though we kept telling ourselves we had reached our fill, it kept coming back to the table. Even some blue haters were converted.
