Kirkham's Lancashire Recall
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) and Kirkham's Lancashire have taken the precautionary step of recalling certain Lancashire cheeses as there may be contamination with E.coli.
All early tests carried out by government laboratories on Kirkham's Lancashire cheeses have come back negative. Furthermore, their local authority has not identified any issues or concerns in the Kirkham's manufacturing process. The Food Standards Agency is doing further testing and the results will be available shortly.
As a precaution, pending further testing, all Kirkham's Cheese batches dating back to October 1st 2023 have been recalled.
cheesegeek has contacted everybody who ordered the affected cheese. If you believe you may have received Mrs Kirkham's Lancashire in this period or are unsure, please get in touch at firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you did receive Mrs Kirkham's Lancashire, the FSA advise to:
- Not consume
- Thoroughly clean any surfaces, utensils and equipment the cheese may have touched
- Dispose of the cheese
As soon as we have further information, we will share it here. It is worth noting, we have been tasting every batch of Kirkham's Lancashire since October 1st, and have had no incidences that would be associated with any form of contamination.
