We are redefining cheese. No longer shall it be an afterthought to a meal, or a simple pasta topping (however delicious this may be). For us Geeks, it’s a travesty that an undiscovered world like this exists...but now you have a chance to join our tribe.

Behold a cheesegeek rolling cheese subscription. Think of it as a cheese pilgrimage...The Geeks will take you on a journey through the incredible diversity, complexity, and quirkiness that is cheese. Want to get into cheese? Here is where it finally happens. The Jimi includes 600g of cheese, perfect for 4-6 people, for sharing, a dinner party, or just someone that could eat cheese all day every day. Pick your first delivery date and you’re set.

4-5 of the finest cheeses totalling approx. 600g accommodating 4-8 people. Always perfectly balanced including some all time greats alongside equally exciting, lesser known alternatives. Cheese is as always seasonal and at the best stage of its life.

In every box, there will be a leaflet with tasting notes and info about each cheese, along with the date of your next box’s arrival. Your Jimi will arrive three to four working days after you have been charged each month. If you don’t receive anything after five working days, please get in touch and we’ll investigate for you.

During checkout, you will be able to select your preferred delivery date. This is great if you're buying as a gift or are organising your cheese in advance. The cheese will be packed in chilled, insulated boxes (that look great!) and will always be prepared on the day it is dispatched. A few other handy pointers:

- We use DHL nationwide and Packfleet within the M25

- Please use the delivery date you have selected as a guide rather than a guarantee.

- Your cheese will arrive in the best condition. It will have been prepared freshly and will not have been with our courier beyond our maximum of 48hrs

- You will receive delivery notifications for when your order is dispatched that mean you can track when it’s in transit

If you aren’t in for your delivery, this won’t matter. Our couriers will leave your cheese in you designated safe place in our climate controlled packaging.

We’re a small business working with an (incredible) perishable product. For advice on delivery or any cheesy questions, get in touch via the live chat or on hello@thecheesegeek.com

Is cheese seasonal?

Most of us are very aware of the seasonality of fruit and vegetables, and even meats such as venison and lamb. However, given global production, the truth is that in many of these products are now available all year round.

Cheese however isn’t always associated with seasonality, and yet it is a product that is arguably more seasonal than any. If you are only eating cheese at Christmas, you are missing out…big time.

The September Selection

Stoney Cross

Summer

Loosely based on a Tomme de Savoie, Stoney Cross is a buttery, velvety cheese featuring a creamy centre with a bit of squidge encased in a rugged rind

The Cheese Geek Ashcombe

Ashcombe

Summer

Ashcombe was once described as "Smoother than Marvin Gaye" and we'd have to agree. There's a reason this handsome chap (and we're not just talking about the cheesemaker DJ), has won so many awards. An Alpine style cheese with a line of wood ash running through, giving you gentle milky flavours with a slightly smoky finish.

cheesegeek Quicke's Mature Cheddar

Wilder Engel

Summer

A rich and creamy alpine cheese from Switzerland, with umami undertones. Supple yet dense, with a satiny texture that melts smoothly on the tongue. Subtle buttery notes of toasted nuts and onion emerge as it lingers, offering both warmth and intrigue.

The Cheese Geek 250g Bath Soft

Bath Soft

Summer

This square-shaped cheese, made in the style of a Brie, is everything a good soft cheese should be. Softy, creamy, buttery and yielding, with a lovely bite from the rind. Whilst the centre of the Bath Soft cheese is very mild and buttery, the rind packs some more flavour, with mushroom, earthy damp vibes, and a teeny citrus/lemon tang hidden in there. It is a relatively mild cheese on the Brie-style spectrum, but beautifully complex, and not a cheese to be missed. (Their blue cheese won Best Cheese in World 2014!).

cheesegeek Long Clawson Blue Shropshire

Shropshire Blue

Summer

Looking to add a splash of colour to your Cheese board? Look no further than the stunning Shropshire Blue. Despite its name, Shropshire Blue is not made in Shropshire at all and is generally made in either Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire or Leicestershire. It is a pasteurised cow’s milk blue cheese with a semi-firm texture which is described as being more mellow than a Stilton and edging towards qualities of a Cheshire! Over the course of maturation, this cheese develops a natural orange-brown rind and has a tangy aroma. The flavour is strong, sharp and delicious.
