Old Winchester is nutty, tangy, salty, and reminds us of an amazing Gouda, Cheddar and Parmesan all at the same time! This is what makes Old Winchester such a unique and great cheese, and finds it a place on our Top Cheeses list. At first sight and taste, you will think it looks like a hard Gouda, just slightly more crumbly in appearance and a bit paler. Gouda is also the first taste that comes through, with somewhat nutty, deep caramel-like flavours going on. Then suddenly, that disappears, and you get a tangy cheddar smack. Unexpected! To finish, if that wasn't enough, it ends with an extremely savoury, slightly salty Parmesan-like taste profile, which if it wasn't so scrumptious would just be weird. There are not many kinds of cheese that can meddle with your tastebuds like this, or be in so many places at one time. Old Winchester does it for fun... an absolute delicious cheese excitement.

You can select delivery dates up until 23rd Christmas. During Christmas week your cheese delivery could arrive +/- 2 days outside of your preferred delivery date. Your cheese will always be cut and wrapped the day it is sent out and you will get a delivery notification when your cheese is prepped, with tracking information when your cheese is on it's way.

Delivery is FREE and it comes in a climate control box (the only in the industry) that comes with a 48 hour freshness guarantee. A fall in milk sales lead Judy & Mike Smales into the world of cheese. From their New Forest farm, they use a gouda recipe and vegetarian rennet to create multi award winning cheeses such as Old Winchester which is loved by chefs as a great alternative to parmesan!
