Holbrook is a brand new cheese from 2020, born about as the result of Martin and Nicola from St James acquiring extra land and goats for their Lake District farm. Named after the famed cheesemaker, Mary Holbrook, this cheese is a seasonal raw milk goat's cheese with prominent fruity, boozy notes and lingering burnt grass flavours. Grind with the rind and you have an added umami complexity. A great new cheese with a lovely story, the extra richness in flavour is developed from the goats only being milked once a day, with the warm milk going straight into the cheese vat. Holbrook is a Spring cheese that you're going to want to try.

Delivery is not only free, and not only at a set day of your choosing, but also comes in a climate control box (the only in the industry) that comes with a 48 hour freshness guarantee.

If that wasn't enough, we also add an insert that will talk you through the info on the cheeses, tasting notes and a scorecard to help you make the very most of your cheesegeek delivery!

Meet the Maker

After training with a host of dairy royalty including Mary Holbrook, Martin Gott established St James in 2006. On his Cumbria farm, Martin produces raw-milk sheep's cheese from his herd of Laucane ewes with a homemade starter culture which leads to a fantastic variation.
