Gorro Loureiro Vinho Verde
Portugal Boutique Winery
Vinho Verde is Northern Portugal's dangerously drinkable refreshing wine offering. It has made a welcome comeback over the past few years and is a perfect example of why we should be drinking more of these wines. Made from the Alvarinho grape (known as Albariño in neighbouring Spain), it shows plenty of red apple fruit, with notes of quince and unripe apricot on the nose. The palate has an almost salty note and whilst it is packed full of fresh acidity there is also a soft creamy mouthfeel which is a beautiful foil to the tangy salinity. A hedonistic, pleasurable white wine through and through which is just oh so smooth.
Our house wine selection has been curated by Alistair Cooper, Master of Wine. We're big believers that the importance of great wine when it comes to great cheese cannot be understated, and as such have selected these wines after hours and hours of scrutiny (and fun), to be all rounders for pairing with our cheese.
Delivery is not only free, and not only at a set day of your choosing, but also comes in a padded climate control box (the only in the industry) that comes with a 48 hour freshness guarantee.
If that wasn't enough, we also add an insert that will talk you through the info on the wines and cheeses, tasting notes and a scorecard to help you make the very most of your cheesegeek delivery!
